Nicole Lachmair lives with her family and her dogs in the Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria.
She has been working in the field of animal-assisted work since 2006 and has been training therapy dogs in Linz in cooperation with the Messerli Institute, VetmedUni Vienna since 2014. She founded her dog school, Therapiehunde OÖ, in 2014 with a focus on therapy dog training, everyday obedience, and dummy training.
She has been an animal-welfare–qualified dog trainer since 2013 and works as a cynological expert for therapy dogs, assistance dogs, and animal-welfare–qualified dog trainers for the Messerli Institute.
Her passion is dummy training, for which she trained at Happy Fellow; she also completed additional training in behavior there. Fair, friendly, and animal-welfare–compliant handling is, for her, a basic prerequisite for harmonious coexistence.
